Bali stretches approximately 140 km from east to west
and 80 km from north to shouth. A small island lying between 8 and
9 degrees south of the equator, it has a complex physical geography
consisting of mountains, coastal lowland and limestone fringes.
The mountains are spectacular, dominated by Mt. Agung and its neighbours
Mt. Abang and Mt. Batur. In the hilly norther coastal regions, the
main produce is caffee, copra spices, vegetables, cattle and rice.
