Ubud is cultural central of Bali and has attracted
visitors interested in Bali's art and crafts ever
since Walter Spies established it as the centre for
the cultured visitors of the 30's. Apart from the
many places of interest in Ubud itself, there are
also numeraus temples, ancient sites and interesting
craft centre arround the touwn, while the road up
to Ubud from the southern tourist centres ( Nusa Dua,
Sanur and Kuta) leads through a dense corridor of
craft shops and galleries.
