The once small village of Ubud has expanded to encompass its neighbours Campuan, Penestanan, padang Tegal, Peliatan, and Pengosekan are all part of what we see as Ubud today. The crossroads, where the bemo's stop, marks the centre of town. On the Nort side is the Ubud Palace, on the south side is the market. Monkey Forest Rd, beside the market, runs south to, of course, the Monkey Forest and Ubud's pura dalem ( temple of the dead ). The main east-west road is Jalan Raya Ubud.
